Please pray for Bishop Nick and Catherine Drayson

The latest prayer letter from Bishop Nick and Catherine Drayson in our link diocese of Northern Argentina.

Dear Down & Dromore

Hope that the Easter time has been one of real blessing for you! We enjoyed Easter and the first of the Centenary Celebrations in Misión Chaquena, it was a wonderfully festive time, with folk from all over the area attending! The past remembered but the challenge of the present and future in everyone's hearts!

So, Easter is over, but we continue to pray that we will live in the light and power of the resurrection!

We wanted to update you so that you will be praying for us especially during the next few weeks, which are very pressurized.

We are so grateful that Catherine is back to full health, and that we could enjoy a good holiday with Sam and Sally. We have also had many meetings and useful tasks whilst we have been in Salta. But it has been almost three months, and now it is not only the cobwebs we need to clear!

We would really appreciate you covering this time with prayer so here are some prayer points:

  • Musicians Seth and Rodrigo are staying with us during May, and helping local music groups develop

  • Mechi (she came last year) and a group from Buenos Aires arrive 28th April for two weeks of travelling to encourage women and children's work. Catherine is largely responsible for organizing this.

  • May 13-15th Catherine meets with a think tank to pray about future of work with families.

  • Meanwhile Nick is away 7-18th May in Salta and Chile meeting with leaders and bishops of neighbouring diocese.

  • May 20-22nd we have the second of our centenary celebrations, this time in Misión La Paz. A wonderful opportunity for drawing inspiration from the past, and encouraging the youth of the future, but also a place of many recent conflicts, including a murder and political violence dividing the community. Michael and Virginia Patterson will be accompanying us.

  • Difficult situations in a few other churches, such as Sauzalito and Juarez, need to be addressed too before we travel

  • 2nd June we travel to UK for almost 2 months, including family weddings, ordinations and graduations, church visits and appointments.

In all this please pray for the organization, preparation, travel, and myriad of other demands and that overall, God would be given glory and that His Holy Spirit would lead, guide and bless!

Thank you so much for your support in this way, and "partnership “in the gospel!

Much love Catherine and Nick xxxxx
