Death of Revd Canon Jack Watson
The Revd Canon Jack Watson, who retired into the Diocese of Down and Dromore and was resident in Dundonald, died on 6 June 2011. A private funeral service will be held in St Columba's Knock.
Born in 1927, John Robertson Thomas Watson became a deacon in 1970 and was priested the following year. He was curate in St Stephen's, Belfast (Connor) until 1973 when he became Bishop's Curate in Swanlinbar with Templeport (Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh).
From 1982 until his retirement in 1997, Jack was rector of Arvagh with Carrigallen, Gowna and Columbkille, becoming Prebendary of Kilmore Cathedral in 1988.
