Schedule in a Bible Sunday

The Bible Society of Northern Ireland has plans to provide churches with a full range of resources to encourage you to arrange a Bible Sunday Service at some point this autumn.

In this year when we are marking the 400th anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible, it seems especially appropriate that we take time to appreciate the wonderful gift of having the Bible in our language and in such profusion of editions.

We will be offering you:

  • Suggested Bible readings

  • A Sermon in both bullet point and fully developed formats, based on Nehemiah Chapter 8

  • A Children's talk

  • Prayers

  • A short sketch about King James and the Bible he commissioned

  • A brief PowerPoint to illustrate key issues;

  • Short stories to illustrate how the Bible is highly valued by people in other countries

  • A Bible project abroad that you may wish to support as a thank offering

  • Material suitable for use with young people

Check out the website from early August.

While different denominations have traditionally allocated a particular Sunday for this purpose, we would encourage you to select a date that will fit in with your teaching programme. We will happily provide any help that we can.
