Join us for the last night

There’s just one night of the Bishop’s Bible Week remaining but even if you’ve missed the previous evenings, it’s not too late to benefit from the teaching, worship and fellowship. Catch up on the talks here.

On Wednesday, John Hughes spoke about burnout – something many in our churches have experienced – but we were encouraged to take heart from Elijah’s story. “The Bible,” said John, “doesn’t hide failure, and God is essentially saying, ‘I’m a God of truth. I deal with truth and reality. Nothing fazes me.’

”God uses our difficult experiences and adds to us as a person and to our ministry through them if we are willing to learn,” he said.

Tonight, Thursday 25, John’s title is ‘Passing the baton – Releasing leaders’ (2 Kings 2) when he will go on to talk about Elisha.

Bishop Harold was unable to attend last night but Archdeacon John Scott introduced the evening and Revd Chris Bennett once more led proceedings. Our Bible reader was Dr Bryan Gregory who is, among other things, the acting Chief Executive for Titanic Foundation Ltd. The Foundation is the charitable body established to deliver ‘Titanic Belfast’ the iconic new visitor attraction currently taking shape in Titanic Quarter, on the site of the former Harland & Wolff Shipyards.
