Latest on Iranian pastor facing execution

It has been reported on Radio 4’s ‘PM’ news programme that Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani, currently on trial in Rasht, may have the case against him dropped.

The programme has spoken to the pastor’s lawyer and in a news item on 4th October said that the lawyer, “now belives that Iran Supreme Court is likely to revoke the death sentence when it meets on Monday. The lawyer is optimistic  the case may be dropped altogether.

“He said he had visited the Pastor in prison and that while he looked physically weak, emotionally he remains strong.”
