Rugby legend addresses Knockbreda Men

Sir Jack Kyle was the guest speaker at the recent Men’s Breakfast in Knockbreda Parish Hall.

Jack is a former rugby union player who played for Ireland, the British Lions and the Barbarians during the 1940s and 1950s.

A former pupil of Belfast Royal Academy and a graduate of Queen’s University, Sir Jack trained as a doctor and specialised as a surgeon. He made his name in that discipline, working for many years as a consultant in Chingola, Zambia.

A deeply committed Christian with a genuine compassion for others, he also undertook humanitarian work in Sumatra and Indonesia.

Sir Jack was the third speaker of the year at the Men’s Breakfast, which seeks to provide men with faith, fellowship and a hearty fry! He follows Revd Richard Bewes (All Souls, Langham Place) and Revd Bryan Martin (Donaghcloney Parish) who also have addressed the gathering.
