North African miracle

The Bible Society NI reports that finally, after many years, the General Secretary of a small North African Bible Society is rejoicing over permission to import 10,000 Scripture items.

When he went to customs to arrange collection of the seven pallets that had finally arrived, he noticed some of the people he spoke to seemed embarrassed. He quickly saw why when the pallets were located. All had been tampered with, with two or three boxes missing from each. Even with some missing, it was an impressive quantity compared with the very small amounts that had arrived in the country in recent years, but the missing few hundred Bibles weighed heavily on his heart.

In town a few days later, he noticed his missing Bibles being sold at the roadside! He inquired about the price, then walked a little further and found some more! The Bibles were on sale at the market, too.

Rather than being angry, he realised that the Bible Society would never have received permission to openly sell Bibles to the public, but through the greed of thieves, a miracle had happened and God’s Word was reaching the people.

We cannot name the country, but we ask you to pray that the Lord will continue to allow doors to be opened – in unusual ways if necessary! Thank God that permission has been granted to bring Scripture into a previously closed country and praise Him that He has worked this particular situation for His glory.
