Count your blessings in Lent 2012

Make Lent count this year in a fresh way by joining Christian Aid Ireland on the ‘Count Your Blessings’ (CYB) journey and supporting some of the poorest communities in the world.

‘CYB will show you how you can appreciate God’s love for all people and all creation.’ The Rt Rev Trevor Williams, Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe.

Count Your Blessings is a series of daily thoughts and actions for the 40 days of Lent.  An example is the focus for Monday 27 February.  82% of the British population are now internet users, compared with only 0.2% of Mali’s population. Christian Aid Ireland is funding a green electricity project in Mali where less than 12% of the rural population in Mali have access to electricity and consequently access to the internet is impossible. But through our partner, Mali Folkcenter we have been working in villages, building Electricity Service Centres with generators run on bio–fuels, bringing light to homes and a power source for health centres and schools. This has made a huge difference to the people living in remote villages.

You can order copies of Count Your Blessings from the Belfast office on 028 9064 8133 or belfast@christian-aid.org.

Alternatively, you can download the NI or Children’s versions here
