Bishop Harold co–chairing AMICUM

Bishop Harold Miller will be in Baltimore from 10–16 February co–chairing the Fourth Meeting of AMICUM (The Anglican–Methodist International Commission on Unity in Mission).

The meeting in Baltimore is taking place in the Bons Secours Spiritual Center, and is being hosted by the local Methodists. The Commission brings together a range of people from across the world, and held its previous meeting in Mexico City, Bath and Cape Town.

The Commission reflects on issues facing our two world communions, and looks at how we can resolve some of the issues which have traditionally kept the two communions apart. It hopes to report within the next year or so to the World Methodist Council and the Anglican Consultative Council. The co–chair is Professor Robert Gribben, from Melbourne.

Bishop Harold writes: ‘The unity of our two churches has been a passion of mine for the whole of my adult life. It is a joy to see us working together for the Kingdom of God, and to see truly hopeful signs of closer unity, not least here in Ireland’.

Please keep Bishop Harold and the AMICUM Meeting in your prayers.
