Knocknagoney institution

Revd Canon David Brown was instituted as incumbent of the parish of Knocknagoney on Sunday 11 March.

Knocknagoney was initially a daughter church of two parishes – St Mark’s Dundela and Holywood, and David arrived there 21 years ago as Bishop’s Curate.

Behind the transition from a bishop’s curacy to a full incumbency lies an encouraging story. It’s of a parish rising to the challenge of its call and gaining the confidence of its community. Read a previous article here.

Bishop Harold preached at the service and both David’s predecessors in Knocknagoney attended – Canon Noel Battye and Canon John Boley.
