Revd Bryan Martin set for Marathon fundraiser

On Monday 7th May, Bryan Martin, Rector of Donaghcloney and Waringstown Parish will once again tie up his trainers and run The Belfast Marathon.

This year Bryan is hoping to raise awareness and support for ‘Love for Life’, a local charity based in his Parish but with an impact right across Ireland.

Love for Life is committed to influencing change within society so that young people have a healthy respect for themselves, relationships and sex. The sexualisation of young people has reached crisis point and Love for Life seeks to empower young people and their communities to stand against the pressure and make healthy choices in relationships.

When asked why he wanted to support Love for Life, Bryan said:

“Love for Life is an amazing charity which helps young people, and parents, see how valued they are as individuals made in the image of God.

As our culture bombards us with images about sex, alcohol and drugs, we often take for granted what media and society tell us. Love for Life helps our young people to see that they don’t have to follow the crowd, so that they can have a healthy respect for themselves, relationships and sex.

I am delighted to be able to help our neighbours in this their 10th Anniversary.”
