Shoes ‘find their feet’

Thank you again for your donations of good second hand shoes as part of our St Patrick’s Day celebrations this year.

The final bags of footwear have been delivered to two mercy ministries who were delighted to receive them.

The Storehouse charity was launched by Belfast City Vineyard Church in 2008 and exists to be a real solution for individuals and families who have no safety net.

Their main ministry of food distribution has recently diversified to include clothing and household goods and our shoe donation comes at just the right time.

‘We are about to open a drop–in centre in Corn Market,” said volunteer, Alan Carson, “and part of that will be a store where people can get clothing and footwear for nothing and without stigma.”

We were also delighted to be able to give several bags of good shoes to The Welcome Centre, a day centre for rough sleepers, ex–offenders and people with alcohol problems in north Belfast.

We’re confident that the shoes we’ve given away will definitely ‘find their feet’!
