The Dock Cafe is Open!

A massive thank–you to all who were there on Thursday for the ribbon–cutting and the official opening of Dock Cafe. It doesn’t seem long (hey, it isn’t long) since we breathlessly signed a Meanwhile Lease for an empty concrete unit, and it’s been overwhelming to see the commitment, creativity and energy of the team who turned that blank canvas into a brilliant ‘industrial chic’ community hub, stuffed with comfy leather sofas, voluminous armchairs, cosy corners, inspiring artwork, and fabulous fresh locally–sourced tea, coffee and baked goodies – in 18 days flat.

Eamonn’s arrival provided one deadline, the grand opening on Thursday (8th) another, and now the rush is over and we can enjoy every precious minute in this gift of a space.  Dock Cafe is open 11–7 Tue–Fri and 11–5 Sat, and if you haven’t had a chance to call in yet – make it your top priority, NOW! Even in the two days we’ve been up–and–running, I’ve lost count of the laughs, conversations, surprises and perfect moments of community around the coffee bar and on the sofas overlooking Nomadic and Titanic Belfast.  This is exactly what we’re here for – Life in the Titanic Quarter, in all its abundance.
