’Hugo’ and the meaning of life

The latest Viewfinder outreach service from Damaris uses clips from Martin Scorsese’s Oscar–winning film Hugo to explore the meaning of life and appropriately introduce the Christian gospel.

Viewfinder services use a recent DVD release to explore big issues for the media generation. These fast–paced, multimedia services are written by experienced communicators such as Nick Pollard, Krish Kandiah and Tony Watkins, and are designed to enable churches to reach the crucial 18–30 demographic – which research* suggests is an area in which many church leaders feel under–resourced.

Each service pack comes complete with a full PowerPoint, script and special videos. For a small annual subscription (£20) you can access every service pack we produce, including those already available based on the films The Social Network, X–Men First Class and In Time.

*Recent research suggests that reaching people aged 18–30 is one of the greatest challenges facing churches today. Damaris Trust has been developing a resource called Viewfinder to help churches to meet this need. Viewfinder services are fast–paced, multimedia outreach services shaped around a recent film, which consider a relevant issue and appropriately introduce the gospel.
