Kyle McCallan interview at ‘First Things’

‘First Things’ (Saturday 21st April 2012), organised jointly by the Church of Ireland Evangelical Fellowship, New Wine Ireland, the Evangelical Fellowship of Irish Clergy and Reform Ireland, was an opportunity for members of the Church of Ireland and of other denominations to come together to celebrate and affirm the essentials of evangelical faith in the 21st century.

At an evening celebration in Shankill Parish Church, the congregation watched an interview with Kyle McCallan, MBE, Ireland’s most capped cricketer. Kyle shared his life story and spoke of his desire to prioritise his faith amidst his many activities. View the video below.

A panel responded to a range of issues which evangelicals are grappling with today, and Bishop Venables preached on the importance of holding to ‘First Things’. The celebration was led by Bishop Harold Miller, who also interviewed, live, famous medical missionary, author and speaker, Dr Helen Roseveare.

At the packed afternoon session in the Jethro Centre, the two keynote speakers were the former Bishop of Rochester, the Rt. Revd. Michael Nazir Ali, who is now President of the Oxford Centre for Training, Research, Advocacy and Dialogue (OXTRAD), and the Bishop of Argentina, the Rt. Revd Greg Venables, formerly Primate of the Southern Cone.
