Smoke rising at Summer Madness

Young people from all over the Diocese of Down and Dromore descended on Glenarm Castle from Friday 29 June to Tuesday 3 July for ‘Fashion Gods’ – Summer Madness 2012.

Smoke was rising when DDYC hosted the customary Bishop’s BBQ on Saturday afternoon. Two Bishops were in attendance to help with the cooking – head chef, Bishop Harold and the new suffragan Bishop of the Arctic, Rt Revd Darren McCartney. Catch a few snaps here.

The Church of Ireland Youth Department erected the ‘Connect Cafe’ which hosted a variety of events including a youth leaders’ breakfast addressed by our own Brandy.

Each year around 20 parishes in the diocese send young people to this event. If you haven’t yet taken the Summer Madness plunge with your youth, there’s help available from our youth department with how to organize a group and even to work with other parishes to take a mixed group there.
