Bible Sunday materials now available
The Bible Society in Northern Ireland has released its resources for Bible Sunday 2012–2013.
The theme of ‘Signposts’ is drawn from John Ch 5:36–47 and Psalm 19:7–14. We take a look at how God has set out Signposts for us to follow as we journey through life.
The material is free to download from the BSNI website here. You are welcome to print and make use of it on any occasion when you find it helpful. Feel free to make copies if you would like to share any of the material with others in your church.
A Bible Sunday Service can be held on any Sunday that suits your Church calendar or you may like to keep to the traditionally held dates as follows:
Church of Ireland: 28 October 2012 (Fifth Sunday before Advent)
Presbyterian and Methodist Churches: 9 December 2012 (Second Sunday in Advent)
The aim of Bible Sunday is to help place Scripture right at the very heart of our lives, our churches and our hearts. But also to challenge ourselves to look beyond our own church walls, to realise that we are exceptionally blessed to own God’s Word not only in our own langauge but in many versions and formats, while millions around the world cannot access even a single verse in their own language. Perhaps this will help us approach the Bible with fresh eyes, with the reality of what an incredible gift we have in our hands.
