What is covered?

Most of the training is based on Core Skills for Children’s Work. This exciting training

scheme seeks to resource all those who work with children in the church. The material is creative and interactive, and is designed for children’s leaders within the local church. Devised and developed by members of CGMC, the modules cover key areas of children’s work:

  • Child development

  • Leadership skills

  • Programme planning

  • Children and community

  • Pastoral awareness

  • Spirituality and the Bible

Core Skills for Children’s Work is devised and developed by members of the Consultative Group on Ministry among Children (CGMC). All material has been piloted by a wide network of church traditions, drawn from churches in Britain and Ireland.

During each session there will be an opportunity to look at current resources in music,

prayer, craft, courses, games, and story–telling.
