Rector of Helen’s Bay installed Prebendary in St Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin

Among the new Canons and Prebendaries recently elected to Dublin’s St Patrick’s Cathedral is the rector of Helen’s Bay, Revd Canon Timothy Kinahan. Timothy was installed as Prebendary of Monmohenock at Evensong on Sunday 30 September.

We warmly congratulate Timothy, who said, “This came completely out of the blue, but I am honoured to be elected.”

At the same service, Revd Dr Heather Morris, President Designate of the Methodist Church in Ireland, was installed as an Ecumenical Canon and Prebendary of Clondalkin.

Dr Morris is the first female president to be elected by the Methodist Church in Ireland. The 47–year–old is the director of ministry at Edgehill Theological College in Belfast.

A second Ecumenical Canon, The Revd Kieran O’Mahony, was installed as Prebendary of Finglas on Sunday 23 September.

The Dean of St Patrick’s, the Very Revd Victor Stacey, said ‘I very much welcome the election of the Revd Kieran O’Mahony and the Revd Dr Heather Morris as Ecumenical Canons on the Chapter of St Patrick’s Cathedral. I believe each of them will contribute something important to the life of the Cathedral, as did their predecessors the Revd Enda McDonagh and the Revd Kenneth Newell.’
