A short profile of Michele Guinness
Brought up in a practising Jewish family, and married to a Church of England minister who is a great, great grandson of Arthur Guinness, the famous brewer, Michele Guinness worked in the UK media for many years, for two of them presenting her own daily lunchtime programme on BBC local radio.
She went on to become Head of Communications for the National Health Service in Cumbria and Lancashire, but left at the last reshuffle to concentrate on writing and speaking.
She has written eleven best–selling books, including, Chosen, (Monarch), her autobiography, The Heavenly Party (Monarch), a resource book on celebration, full of ideas and recipes, and a biography of the Guinness family. Autumn Leave – A Season in France, (Authentic), published in 2009, describes the joys and pitfalls of planning a retirement in France.
Published in May 2010, Word of the Wives, is a book of 26 monologues by some of the lesser–known women of the Bible, and co–written with daughter, Abby.
