Christian Radio station partners with local churches

Listeners in Northern Ireland can now tune in to Christian radio station, Spirit Radio, on 549 Medium Wave and local churches can partner with them to share stories and events.

Spirit Radio is upbeat positive radio geared to appeal to both committed Christians and to those who are searching for hope and direction. The station plays a mix of contemporary Christian music and a selection of mainstream hits whilst short punchy reflections communicate the relevance of faith to contemporary life. Professionally scripted and produced, these thought provokers are a new wineskin for the timeless message of the Gospel. Chat shows create a platform for Christian voices to address the issues of the day.

Surveys by independent research companies RedC and AskChili put the listenership at 165,000 and growing. This seems to indicate that Spirit Radio is resonating with the listener. In a media savvy age, the new station wants to work hand in hand with the local church. The station can stir interest and act as a signpost, it is the local church that can provide the welcome.

You can contact Spirit Radio to advertise upcoming events in your parish (although not ordinary services) or put them in touch with someone on your congregation who has a powerful testimony to share.

Spirit Radio is bringing Christians from across the religious spectrum together with both the board and the operational team representing the diversity of Christian tradition. At the heart of the Christian Gospel is the message that God has sent his son Jesus Christ to redeem Mankind – this is the Good News we hold in common.
