A prayer letter from Bishop Darren and Karen McCartney

Our friends Bishop Darren and Karen McCartney have been in Iqaluit for nearly 3 months and they write with an update of life and ministry in The Diocese of the Arctic.

Karen has been working  for a couple of months with the department of community justice. This includes crime prevention, victim services, community justice committees, family abuse and family mediation. She is the first crime prevention coordinator and a big part of her job will be to develop a crime prevention strategy for Nunavut.

Darren has been travelling in the diocese and also down to Toronto where the House of Bishops met for a week.

Please pray for:

  • Protection in the spiritual battle

  • Wisdom for Darren as he deals with difficult situations and decisions both within the Diocese and in the Church of Canada

  • Safety for Darren as he travels and Karen while he is away and also for God’s guiding hand in her new job

  • Special blessing as we build relationships and for divine friendships

  • For strength and courage as we step out for the Lord
