Confirmation season continues in Drumgath and Drumgooland

Twenty–four young people from Drumgath and Drumgooland Group of Parishes were presented for confirmation in Drumgooland Parish Church, Ballyward, on Sunday morning 14 April.

It was a colourful occasion and an important step of faith for the group. Before they were confirmed Bishop Harold preached on the theme of ‘Following’ and challenged candidates to, “Run with perserverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12: 1).

The young people were made to feel very special when, after the service, they were presented with a huge cake iced with a message of congratulations from the parish. DDYC provided chocolate fountains and goody bags whilst each candidate left with the gift of a Bible, given by their church.

Rector of the group, Revd David Somerville, said, “We have confirmation every third year and I’m delighted to say that families here still see the value in it.”
