Confirmation in Kilbroney
Bishop Harold confirmed eighteen candidates from the Mourne Area Deanery in Kilbroney on Sunday evening 19 May.
Eleven young people came forward from Clonallon, & Warrenpoint with Kilbroney, six, including two adults, from Kilhorne and one from Kilkeel.
Matthew Annett from Kilhorne gave his testimony during the service, and spoke of how his faith came alive to him once he made the move to high school. Raised in a Christian home, Matthew’s parents decided to give him the chance to choose baptism for himself, which he did recently in the Irish Sea at Annalong!
Supper after the service was served in the Kilbroney Centre and included a cake specially iced for the occasion with the candidate’s names.
The centre will soon host a Diocesan Summer Camp for young people aged 11–14 years.
