Anglican Communion News Service has new home

ACNS has just launched its first ever purpose–built news website which you can find at www.anglicannews.org

It has been 20 years since ACNS went digital and now the Anglican Communion has access to more than just news stories from its Member Churches.

As you all know, until now we’ve been restricted to sending only news stories to your email inboxes, said Jan Butter, Editor of ACNS. “But on this new site there is, not only news, but also comment pieces, feature stories, podcasts, videos and photos. We hope that the diverse content will better reflect the richness and variety found across our Anglican Communion.

“Don’t worry though, subscribers will still receive email alerts, but just one a day summarising the newest content on the site; plus the occasional one for breaking news…”

Speaking about the initiative on the website itself, Archbishop Justin Welby commented that:

“…we must remember that above all we are called to share the love of Christ with the world. That is our great task. So it is not just what we say, but how we say it, that is our message.

“That means nothing less than communicating in a way that reflects Christ – a way that is loving and generous, patient and forgiving. On the launch of this new communication channel for our Communion, I pray that it comes to embody these Christ–like qualities.”
