Visit the 24/7 Prayer Room at the Bishop’s Bible Week

Come along a bit earlier to the Bishop’s Bible Week to make sure you visit the 24/7 Prayer Room, specially set up in Shankill’s side chapel.

Prior to the Year of Mission 2015, we plan a year of 24/7 Prayer in 2014. It will start in The Dock, Titanic, at midnight on 31 December 2013 and continue as we pass the baton throughout the diocese for every single minute of the year 2014, morning, noon and night.

Of course, this will not happen without the participation of every parish, each taking responsibility for a certain number of days, according to its ability. The room at Shankill has been set up by 24/7 Prayer’s Tash Creaney (who spoke at Diocesan Synod) to give us a taste of different ways to engage in prayer and provide a model for parishes for whom this is an unfamiliar concept.

What can you expect?

Creativity! Different prayer stations around our Year of Mission theme, ‘For Him, For you’, drawing us away from ourselves, to our family – friends– community – churches around us– churches in our diocese– local – world.

Tash is going to have some handouts available with helpful suggestion of how to set up a prayer space and she will be around on some of the nights to chat and answer your questions.

We hope, not only to provide a resource but to inspire you about the possibilities that a year of 24/7 prayer would open up and the foundation that would be laid for a powerful work of God among us.

Please feel free to take photos and bring them home to show your parish.
