A new website for St Mary’s Ballybeen

Congratulations to St Mary’s Ballybeen who have just gone live with a compact new website based on the well–known Wordpress platform.

The site is clean, simple to use, mobile responsive (easy to load and navigate on a smartphone or tablet) and was inexpensive to set up.

The customisable theme or template cost just $45 and the hosting works out at approximately £30 per annum.

The rector, Revd Mark Harvey, put the site together by snatching time over a few days. “I am not technically minded,” says Mark, “but there is a lot of online support and documentation to help you. Getting a site up and running isn’t as difficult or as expensive as you might think.”

One of our goals as a diocese is for every parish to have a website well ahead of the Year of Mission 2015, even if they are already using Facebook and or Twitter. This is one of the many ways to go about it and here in the office we are looking at all the options so that parishes can have an easily managed and effective site.
