24–7 Prayer: the journey continues
The prayer scroll continues to move throughout the diocese. Today the Revd John Auchmuty, rector of St Columba’s (right) handed over to the people of Orangefield parish. He is pictured here with the rector, Canon Walter Lavery. Orangefield will hold the scroll until 23 January when they will hand over to Gilnahirk.
The scroll is a symbol of the parish’s commitment to sustain prayer but it also documents the prayer journey through the diocese. Parishes are filling in the dates on which they have held the prayer mantle as well as an encouraging story or comment from their time praying. They are also encouraged to write a prayer of blessing for the next parish.
