Bishop Harold speaking in Willowfield this Holy Week

This year Bishop Harold will be speaking throughout Holy Week at Willowfield Church, Belfast.

The parish is planning a series of special events and services, inside and outside the church, which will offer a dramatic retelling of the Passion (watch out for the guards outside the ‘tomb’ on Easter Saturday.)

Our parishes throughout the diocese are conducting Holy Week services to which you are warmly welcomed. Please visit our parish pages to find out contact details, parish website addresses.

Holy Week in Christianity is the last week of Lent and the week before Easter. It includes the religious holidays of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) and Good Friday, and lasts from Palm Sunday until, but not including, Easter Sunday.

It commemorates the last week of the earthly life of Jesus Christ before his crucifixion on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter Sunday whereupon a new liturgcal season begins.
