Shankill is host to civic service to mark Great War Centenary

On Sunday 3 August, Shankill Parish, Lurgan, was privileged to host the official Civic Service to mark the Centenary of the Outbreak of the Great War. The service was for the new Council Area and all sections of the community.

The Lord Lieutenant for County Armagh attended as the Queen’s Representative and a children’s cross community choir sang.

The service followed an act of Remembrance with wreath laying at The Cenotaph.
