How to pray for South Sudan
The Rt Revd Justin Badi, Bishop of our link diocese in Maridi, South Sudan, has written to Bishop Harold with guidance on how to pray for the peace talks. They are currently adjourned but will resume on 15 October.
Some progress has been made this time but the negotiations are stuck on three issues:
1) Changing the name of Republic of South Sudan to Federal Republic of South Sudan
2) Power sharing between the President, Prime Minister and Vice President
3) The future of the two armies after the transitional period
Please continue to pray for a breakthrough.
After a trip to the dicoese in January had to be postponed there are plans for a small team of women to visit Maridi in December this year. Read more here.
