Killinchy Fireworks Extravaganza!

The annual fireworks display takes place at Killinchy Community Hall this year on Friday 7 November. Organised by the United Parish of Killinchy, Kilmood and Tullynakill, the event draws huge crowds to the village.

Gates open at 6.30 pm with the fireworks being set off at 7.30 pm. There’s lots to see and do with a whole host of stalls including burgers, hot dogs, soups and teas to keep everybody fed and watered.

New to the event this year is the diocesan popcorn machine, candy floss maker and chocolate fountain. You will also be able to buy a range of glowstick products including necklaces and bracelets.  All the proceeds are going to charity and the parish development fund.

The Mayor of Ards, Councillor Philip Smith will be in attendance to officially open the new extension to the community hall. Councillor Smith said, “This £75,000 investment gives a much needed facelift to Kilinchy Hall and provides our community with a modern, attractive facility that is open to everyone. Thanks to Ards Borough Council, Down Rural Area Partnership and NI Housing Executive for their support but most importantly, thanks to the small team of volunteers who have made this project happen.”

The Rector of Killinchy, Revd Dr. Stanley Gamble thanked the mayor for his continued hard work in the community and said, “The fireworks display promises to be a great night for the whole community with fun, food and fellowship on offer. Each year the parish are proud to deliver this event, and this year we are delighted to be working alongside the Mayor of Ards and the good people at Killinchy Community Hall. Come along and enjoy the fun!”
