Diocese makes covenant together
We hope that as a parishioner in the Diocese of Down and Dromore you were able to attend a Service of Covenant and Commitment on 4 January, the first Sunday of 2015.
To give yourself fully to God and his purposes is a good thing to do at any time, but it’s particularly significant at the beginning of this year of Mission 2015. We should not underestimate the power of our words of covenant and our pledge to willingly take our places ‘within the welcoming, worshipping and witnessing life of this church as we commit to reaching beyond our walls with the good news of Jesus Christ.’
As a diocese we have entrusted ourselves to God and his purposes so let’s pray for a year blessed with spiritual fruit – lives changed by an encounter with Jesus Christ, churches renewed and communities transformed as the people of God live in the realities and power of the Kingdom of God.
