Situation in Maridi – a brief update from Bishop Justin
Recent unrest has claimed lives in our link diocese of Maridi so please continue to pray for calm and order. We are in touch with Bishop Justin who wrote briefly to Bishop Harold on 19 June:
My Dear Bishop Harold
Grace and peace from God to you all.
Thanks for all your prayers for us and the situation we are in.
It is now two days that the situation has calmed down in Maridi. We pray that this will continue to hold. It is only sad that the death toll has gone over thirty and many wounded. The population of Maridi is still scattered now. Some people have gone to Yambio and others to Yei. At least five hundred families are displaced and those who went to the bushes are yet to come out.
