St Patrick’s Drumbeg break the ground for their new parish hall

On the last Sunday in May, parishioners of St Patrick’s Parish Church, Drumbeg, witnessed the breaking of the ground for the building of their new parish hall.

Following morning worship in the historic church, the congregation made the short walk across the graveyard to witness this important landmark in the life of the parish.

The rector, Revd Willie Nixon, conducted a short commissioning service before Bill Parkes (the most senior member of the congregation) and Rachel Price (the youngest member of the Sunday School) turned the first sod in preparation for work to commence. The new hall will sit on ground adjacent to the church graveyard.
