Happy Birthday to the Dock Market

Its hard to believe, but Dock Market is one year old!

Dock chaplain, Chris Bennett, says, “It may have come from small beginnings, but the Dock Market stallholders can be really proud of themselves – it’s impossible to leave the market without being tempted beyond the limit of human endurance!

“And then there’s the atmosphere of the place as well – which never fails to be noticed by the customers too. The Dock Market gang have become a family – the welcome is warm, the craic is mighty, and the very spirit of the place reverberates with the love and laughter and life that characterise The Dock. It’s an awesome place to while away a Saturday afternoon.”

And more good news is that for the rest of the summer, the Dock Market is on every week.

The market is just one aspect of ‘Life in the Titanic Quarter’ centred around the now famous Dock Honesty Box Café. The space has a Prayer Garden and there’s a monthly meeting on the first Sunday of each month from 6.00 pm to approximately 7.15 pm.

Sunday Nights are an opportunity to meet The Dock team, neighbours, supporters and newcomers, to worship, share new insights, celebrate good news and to pray for Belfast and one another.

There’s lots of time to chat and enjoy a cuppa and the Prayer Team is also available to listen and pray.

These services do not ‘belong’ to any one denomination and anyone, of every tradition and background is welcome – which was the Dock vision from the very start.
