Revd James Boyd instituted as Vicar in Willowfield

Bishop Harold has instituted Revd James Boyd as Vicar in Willowfield Church at a service on Tuesday 13 October. Bishop Ken ‘Fanta’ Clarke gave the address.

It’s a return to the diocese for James who served his curacy in Magheralin and prior to that worked as Youth Ministry Co–ordinator with St John’s, Moira. He leaves the Diocese of Clogher and the Parish of Dromore to take up this new post where he will join a ministry team led by the rector, Archdeacon David McClay.

Speaking to Willowfield about the move James said:

“The city is not a natural environment for us but we believe that we are being obedient to what God has for us and we are excited about the move to Belfast. His ways are higher than our ways and His plans are often not our plans. We come to you resting in the assurance that God’s hand has been in this move. After we had been approached and began to pray this through we sensed very quickly that God was leading us in this direction. The timeline that has brought us to this point has been fast but very smooth.

We look forward to getting to know you in the months and years that lie ahead.”

James is married Shirley. They have two girls and an energetic Springer Spaniel called Archie.
