About Safeguarding Trust
The Church of Ireland’s child protection policy, Safeguarding Trust, the Code, for short, has been in place since 1997 and was included in the Constitution of the Church of Ireland in 2006. There are separate editions for use in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

“It is the policy of the Church of Ireland to set standards for the welfare of all children sharing in its ministry with a view to protecting them from physical, sexual and emotional harm”.
