Revd Willie Nixon is sitting out for charity

Rector of Drumbeg, Revd Willie Nixon, is close to completing a 24 hour charity sit–out in the village. He has exchanged the rectory for a horse trailer complete with a few home comforts.

The rector is collecting tinned and dried foods for the Storehouse in Dunmurry and all monetary donations will be going to the work of the Salvation Army in Belfast.

Willie is sitting out for the entire time but is being joined  by parishioners throughout the day–about 60 have already taken part.

This is the 3rd sit–out. Last year’s effort raised £1800 and 4000 tins of food and it’s looking as though this year’s total will be similar.
