Advice and Small Grants for Church Community Projects

Our diocese has recently been working with The Cinnamon Network, an organisation that works across the UK to help churches serve the people most in need in communities.

The Cinnamon Network is offering our parishes free advice to help set up new social action projects in their local area. It is also offering help to access a number of start–up micro–grants for new projects of between £1,500 – £3,000.

We are holding an information evening

When: Monday 7 MarchWhere: Braniel Community Church, Belfast (map link here)

These start up grants are not complicated to access but they are only available for projects similar to around 30 approved ‘off the shelf’ models of social action. For instance; food banks, visiting schemes and support for vulnerable young mums.

For more information on the type of suitable projects please follow this link: www.cinnamonnetwork.co.uk/projects

If you are interested in exploring a project that serves vulnerable people in your local community then this information evening may be helpful. We will showcase some similar community projects that are currently happening and outline how The Cinnamon Network could help you explore what might be the best ways to meet need in your local community.

Please speak to your rector regarding attendance.
