28 from the diocese attend CITI training weekend

28 people from Down and Dromore attended the ‘Fit for Purpose Weekend’ at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute in Dublin from 19–21 February. They joined students from 7 other dioceses.

The weekend focused on the theme of vocation and it also saw the commencement of two training courses: 19 embarked on the one year Foundation Course programme while 36 people started the Reader training which lasts two years. Down and Dromore is training 23 Readers.

27 year old Emma Fleming from Moira (standing, far right) has already completed the Foundation course and will be focussing on the Reader training, particularly the CITI and Diocesan preaching and liturgy modules.

She said: “I found the weekend enriching and I look forward to developing my knowledge, skills and faith further as I continue on the journey of exploring my call to ministry within the Church of Ireland.”
