Beautiful new window dedicated in Garvaghy Parish Church
On Sunday 13 March Bishop Harold dedicated a stained glass window in Garvaghy Parish Church and rededicated the parish hall after recent refurbishment.
The window on the theme “The Good Shepherd” was the gift of the Kerr family in memory of Mr John (Jack) Kerr, former Master of Garvaghy School and a long–time member of the parish.
His widow Mrs Vera Kerr and son Derek were able to be present along with family and friends from across Ireland and beyond.
Sadly since the service Mrs Kerr who had also served Garvaghy Parish as organist and select vestry member had a fall and passed away over the Easter weekend aged 96. Many of the same congregation gathered on Easter Tuesday for Mrs Kerr’s funeral where the theme was “the Lord is my shepherd”.
