Congratulations to Bishop Darren and Karen McCartney!
We were thrilled to hear the news that our friend and former colleague Darren McCartney, Suffragan Bishop of the Arctic, and his wife Karen, have been blessed with a son, Liam James McCartney.
Liam James was born on May 25, 2016 and weighed in at 8 lbs, 4 oz. He is the answer to many years of prayer for which we give thanks to God!
O God, you have taught us through your blessed Son that whoever receives a little child in the name of Christ receives Christ himself: We give thanks for the blessing you have bestowed upon Darren and Karen in giving them their son, Liam James. Confirm their joy by a lively sense of your presence with them, and give them calm strength and patient wisdom as they seek to bring Liam James to love all that is true and noble, just and pure, lovable and gracious, excellent and admirable, following the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
