Death of Canon Cecil Cooper
Canon Cecil Cooper, who was rector of Drumbeg and Editor of The Church of Ireland Gazette from 1982–2000 died on Monday 6 June. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family circle.
Cecil was ordained deacon in 1959 and after serving in Cork, Cloyne and Ross and Cashel and Ossory, became curate, first in Knockbreda and then Magheradroll in Down Diocese.
He was made a canon of Down Cathedral in 1986 and upon retirement was Canon Chancellor.
The funeral will be held in St Mark’s, Ballymacash, Lisburn, on Friday 10 June, at 1.00 pm.
