Happy 100th birthday to boat–builder Gregg
Congratulations to Kilkeel man Gregg Grills who, with the hardiness of some of the vessels he put to sea, has reached his 100 year birthday milestone!
Around 70 family and friends joined in the celebrations in Slieve Roe Care Home earlier this month. Among them was Gregg’s rector at Christ Church Kilkeel, Revd Ken McGrath, who described him as “a quiet and generous man held in high regard by many”.
A boat builder by trade, Gregg is mentioned by name in the maritime Museum at Kilkeel harbour. He says he is most proud of his work on ‘The Primrose’.
