Flower Festival ‘A wonderful experience’

“Scripture and prayer inspirational” and “A wonderful experience filled with God’s presence and glory”, were just 2 of the comments made by visitors to the recent Bangor Parish Flower Festival.

The event attracted over 2,500 people and had the title: “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full”. Our outlook was missional as we sought to reflect God’s generosity and love for us.

The twelve majestic exhibits were inspired by Bible verses and the beauty of the flowers was complemented by a continuous stream of music, including contributions from 250 school pupils.

A themed Prayer Room was opened throughout the Festival. We received 225 prayer requests, and distributed 350 copies of Christian publications.

Our concern for the prosperity of the town centre and the associated pressures on local businesses resulted in a decision to ‘buy in’ all of the baked goods.

It was a wonderful opportunity for 160 members of the church (and others) to work together for God.
