Rain or shine it’s BBQ time!

Heavy rain on the Saturday of this year’s Summer Madness did nothing to dampen the spirits of festival goers, who were out in force as ever for the fourteenth Bishop’s Barbecue!

The rain largely held off around dinner time as campers from across the diocese and beyond joined Bishop Harold for the best burgers, hot dogs and pulled pork available at the festival.

Bishop Harold was in the thick of things alongside Youth Officer Tim Burns and Development Officer Andrew Brannigan as hundreds queued for their burger.

As ever a large team of volunteers also helped with cooking, with dressings and drinks and keeping the ‘craic’ going as the line grew longer.

Tim said, “It’s great to see so many of our churches from the diocese at Summer Madness and the Bishop’s Barbecue offers the perfect chance to connect with them. We love meeting folks from our churches as well. By the end of a busy Saturday at Summer Madness everyone is ready for their dinner!”
