Tickets on sale for 80th Anniversary Bangor Worldwide Celebration at Assembly Buildings

Bangor Worldwide, which this year is celebrating its 80th anniversary, will host an evening celebration in Belfast on Saturday 20 August, in Assembly Buildings (The Spires).

Guest speakers at the event will be Conrad Mbewe from Kabwata Baptist Church in Zambia, George Verwer from OM and Bob McAllister, former missionary to the DR Congo. The evening will be chaired by the Presbyterian Moderator Rt Rev Dr Frank Sellar and praise will be lead by Allistair Hamill and band. An exhibition of mission agencies will be open from 6pm and the event itself will start at 7.30pm. Tickets costing £5 can be booked via the website www.worldwidemission.org.

Chairman Tom Clarke said, “We are looking forward to marking our 80th anniversary with this special event in Belfast. We know Bangor Worldwide has influenced many people across Northern Ireland to support God’s mission throughout the world and inspired people to serve Him overseas. We hope many will join with us, both in Belfast and at the various events taking place in Bangor as part of our annual programme.”

Over 30 different events are planned to take place between Friday 19th and Saturday 27th August, the majority of which are to be held at Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church. Weekday morning Bible readings will take place at 11am lead by Conrad Mbewe and Andy Prime, from 20schemes in Scotland. The theme for this summer’s Convention is ‘Great is Your Faithfulness’.
