Jigsaw – Connecting God’s Big Picture

Julie Currie, Diocesan Children’s Officer, was recently invited to Building Blocks Conference in Dublin to share about the new Sunday School curriculum;  ‘Jigsaw –Connecting God’s Big Picture’.   The resource, which is now available for the first time as a printed book, received an enthusiastic welcome from leaders at the conference from all over Ireland.

Year 1 of the curriculum now comes as a 400 page spiral bound book containing ten units of teaching material, each unit includes 3 lessons and an all age/family service, memory verses, songs, games, take home sheet for parents, task board icons, prayer ideas and craft ideas. Alongside the book, additional resources can be found on Pinterest and Facebook at JIGSAW DDYC.

“The resource is designed to be visual, clear and easy to follow,” says Julie. “We know that it has encouraged both children and teachers to enjoy Sunday School but the best thing about it has been the partnership with the 30 churches who piloted Jigsaw and gave extremely valuable feedback to help increase its effectiveness.”

12 churches have recently begun Year 1 of the programme and the 30 churches that took part in piloting the resource last year are now continuing into Year 2 of the curriculum. The new book for Year 2 which will be launched at the Essentials training day in June.

Available free to Down and Dromore parishes, the Jigsaw programme can be used across a variety of church contexts. If you would like more information about using Jigsaw with your Sunday School then please contact Julie in the diocesan office: julie@downanddromore.org
