Roadshow made welcome across the diocese

Involving 5 venues, 31 different churches and over 200 people, the ‘Everybody Welcome’ roadshow certainly enjoyed a warm welcome across the diocese this term.

These one–off training evenings were designed to encourage parishioners on how their church as a place and a people can be more welcoming.  Each night was very interactive with discussion, conversations and a participants’ booklet to hold it all together.

Reviewing the ‘Everybody Welcome’ initiative, the course facilitator, Andrew Brannigan, said:

“We wanted to approach our training for church welcome in a fun and interactive way so that people could go home not just challenged around welcome but having enjoyed learning.  As it turned out the issue was not getting people to talk to each other but rather getting them to stop!  This training was conceived in order to support the role that all of us have in welcoming others and, from the very positive feedback we have received, it has been able to do this.”

The ‘Everybody Welcome’ training session has already been used in an individual parish and is available to be delivered in your own parish.

If you would like to book one of these training sessions, especially for the start of the new term in September, please contact Andrew.
